Highs: It's the weekend! And I have a whole day to go shopping! My boyfriend is out mowing the lawn and I've got $61 in gift certificates to the mall and 10% off at Carlyle & Co. Not that I'm buying any jewelry today, but they are having a sale right now and it's always fun to look... The weather is beautiful today and later this afternoon we may take a motorcycle ride.

Lows: My cat woke me up at 6:30 this morning (on a Saturday!!) and I couldn't go back to sleep. I'll probably crash at 9:00 tonight.

Lows:
.... so tired.... must ... stay... awake ... for work!

Highs:
(1) Reason I'm so tired: a boy cooked dinner for me last night! [yay me]. And he's a pretty damn good cook too!! We had a chicken marsella [um... sp?] with mushrooms and stuff, and cooked peppers [yellow & green], and wine. Well, let me back up. When I walked into his apartment, it was vacumed [he's a clean guy] and first thing I see is him with his shirt off standing over the stove [not a bad site] then he pours me a glass of wine, and goes to put a shirt on. He's got some jazz playing, candles set up ALL around the main room of the apartment, the room cleared and a table with a white table cloth on it in the middle. Not too shabby. Then we kinda talk and dance while he finishes dinner. Then we eat. For dessert we had strawberries in cool whip [yup] and some champagne. All in all it was a good night. This morning getting up for work was a little rough though, even though I went to bed at 11 and got 6 hours of sleep. But I think I'm just not caught up with everything.

(2) I GOT A BUNNY RABBIT. He's soooooo cute. I got him Saturday with my brother. He called tha tmorning for me to drive to Atlanta and pick him up so he can come drive my old car back up to New Jersey. .. so I did [ a little annoyed] but we stopped at a Flea Market in Georgia and he bought me a bunny. He's a black Netherland Dwarf... soooooo cute. I named him Titan [Ty for short]. He was a little timid at first, but he's now gotten to the point where I can open his cage, and go lay down a few feet away, and he'll come hoppin up to me and nuzzle. heehe. I'm excited.

Ok, well I better get back to work... hope everyone is doing GREAT!!

Lows: Don't really have any right now except maybe it's raining outside!

Highs: I don't have to go out in the rain today! It is still summer and classes have not started yet.

Thanks Michelle

Stevie-I hate to be the annoying "advice for care of animals" provider but I can't help it, soooo what type of diet do you have your rabbot on? I recommend getting a veterinarian (one that knows about rabbits b/c some vets says they do but they don't so do your homework and get recommendations on veterinarians) to examine your bunny and do a fecal-you never know what type of environment an animal comes from especially those sold at flea markets. Ok I am done with advice giving.

Aggie - I don't think you are being annoying! I think its great that you have such a great job that allows you to help others and educate them about their pets! Way back when (when we didn't know any better!) we bought a ferret at a pet store. Thankfully, our town was large enough to have a ferret-specialist at the vet, so when we took Hobbes to see Dr. Barnard, he about went through the roof! Hobbes was only 2 weeks old (MUCH too young to be separated from his mother) and did not have a tatoo marking from his breeder, which meant he was most likely NOT from a reputable breeder (again, things we didn't even know to ask when we bought him). Dr. B had to start some life-saving treatments for Hobbes regarding vitamins, diet, and shots to build his immune system. He also did whatever vets do when they call "the authorities" about the pet store we bought him at. I don't know who the higher ups are in that case, but he filed a complaint against that store.

Hobbes never grew to the average size - his maximum weight was 2lbs 3oz (most ferrets average 7 pounds or so), and he never had the full coat of fur that most ferrets have. In fact, the first time Mr. AXO Alum and I met some ferret owners that had their ferrets with them at a campground, we were SHOCKED! We couldn't believe that that was how ferrets were "supposed" to look. Hobbes also had a lot of health problems throughout his 6 years that kept us at the vet and stocked up on medicines.

Anyway, Dr. Barnard was such a blessing to us! He moved his practice too far away for us to travel, but thankfully I met another vet in town who is also an Alpha Chi alumna!! So she was able to care for Hobbes in his last year of life, and eventually help him along to the Rainbow Bridge.

So NEVER apologize for being annoying - you are doing us all a service when you offer advice and educate us

Stevie - The bunny is adorable and I love the name you picked!

I had a wild bunny when I lived on the farm. We named it....HOPPITY! How original...
Do you read the comic strip "For Better Or For Worse"? The family has a rabbit and some of the situations are pretty funny!

Highs-Finally got my furniture in the bedroom the way I want it-for now. Leaving for DC to meet my daughter Thursday. Driving home together and so happy for the time we get to share.

Lows-Was to go to Houston today (tax free weekend) that was changed because my son was going to a fraternity party BUT he's sick...LOTS of sore throats this year and that worries me. Hope he will be up for Sunday so we can finish up his school shopping.
We say our goodbyes in 17 days.

Hey aggieAXO, not being annoying whatsoever! I've been doing my research on everything I need for the bunny and whatnot. My brother is helping me out too [he's had bunnies before when he was in college... from the same place].

So far, bunny is doing great!! Has a great appetite... and now knows to hop back into his cage to go to the bathroon! [which is exciting.

Highs:
-Had a wonderful weekend!! [little hazy, but fun]. People are slowly trickling back to school, so I've been catching up. Spent all day saturday at the pool with my brother and a bunch of friends playing beer pong [yes, floating beer pong table... AWESOME -- my brother made it].
-Almost done with work... so I'll get to sleep in for my 8am class this coming semester
-My best friend, Matt, is coming back on the 10th!! yay.

Lows:
I have to be out of my old apartment on the 10th, so I have a bunch of stuff to move, and I don't have a bed for my new apartment yet [grrrrrrrrr], or a desk. So I have my work cut out for me this week!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK GIRLS!
love, stevie

Highs: I had a birthday party for my dh tonight and fixed the perfect beef tenderloin! Mmmm... it was so good and easy! It was the kind of dinner you stick in the oven before everyone gets there and don't worry about until an hour later! Perfect! DH enjoyed himself and seeing all of his buddies!

Thanks guys for putting up with my teaching/preaching or what ever you want to call it.

His: almost all moved in, now I have to put my condo on the market-what a PIA.
I went shopping with the girls today and had a blast but spent way to much $$$$. My favorite new store-Banana Republic-I had not been in Banana Republic since high school (about 13 years ago) and had forgotten how cute the clothes are. I also bought new shoes which is difficuilt at times because my feet are so skinny.

Lows: My new house is so big and lonely . I wish I could share it with somebody.

Hello all!
Lows: I started my internship at a middle school last week, and I think it is going to be educational, but tons of work. I am not at all motivated to start right now - I've enjoyed my summer greatly. Classes start Sept. 2. Yuck! I keep telling myself - only nine months to go...only nine months to go...

Highs: The recruitment board has been fun. I love seeing all these new women finding a home in a sorority. (Congrats to Erin34, our newest AXO!) Best of luck to all you sisters, alums, and advisors participating in recruitment now and in the next few weeks!

We moved our son into the dorm yesterdayI made it out of the dorm without falling apart.

When we came home and opened the door, and it was so still, like all the energy was...gone. I broke down.

I miss my baby boy.......... I miss my kids............was I a good enough Mom? What could I have done better?

It will never be the same again.............

There are no highs for me today...........

i had a little experience with my badge today that i thought i'd share...

i have been packing up like crazy trying to get everything ready to move back to school on sat. today i was packing up my AXO stuff which i keep together. i have a pincushion which holds my badge and my stick pin and i moved it to a box. well thank goodness i looked closely a few min. later because my badge wasn't on the pillow! i then realized that it probably hadn't been fastened and had fallen off. so i'm on my hands and knees searching my room like a crazy person, thinking that i lost it for good.

fast forward 30 min....i take a shower and am drying off. i sit down on my bed to apply lotion and what do i sit on? MY BADGE. i'll spare the details but let's just say it hurt more than a little.

so....i found the badge, but did i really HAVE to SIT on it??

haha oh well!
