Truth - there's a definite difference in why BoSox fans hate Jeter and why we hate ARod.
Jeter: while Giambi has overtaken him for most overpaid player in MLB, he's still (statistically) overpaid and a touch overrated . . . however, he just kills the Red Sox. The guy plays his ass off, and performs when it matters - the ultimate legacy of 'those Yankees teams' from 99-2002 that just pisspounded Boston.
ARod: simply proving himself to be the biggest douche bag in sports - between running off at the mouth, underperforming, mailing it in in big situations, poorly handling the media, alienating himself from the 'good guys' on his team, and all of his teams mysteriously improving when he leaves . . . he's the real target now, and it's perfect, b/c he emulates all that's wrong with the Steinbrenner regime - almost the photo negative of Jeter.
