To stay off topic for one more second...I don't really know of any towns around me that actually had prom somewhere other than a gym. Maybe if you were in Madison or Milwaukee, which are WAY different than the rest of the state, you wouldn't have. We tried to have it off-site and the school pitched a fit. We also had to sell tickets for our parents to see the grand march, (you know when they introduce EVERYONE) we ended up moving it earlier than in previous years and parents got really mad at us. It is just they way things were done. We did the whole thing up in gossamer and whatnot so it looked nice, but you could still see the half-court line.
