my point about having a kid with a woman you're not in love with is, things can get VERY tangled VERY quickly.
If you're married, usually a couple is willing to work together a little more -- same with a boyfriend/girlfriend who have a kid. There's a relationship at stake outside the parenting.
You want to be able to focus on raising the kid, NOT on a bitter custody battle with a woman you barely know.
Cosign on a surrogate mother or adoption.
