I agree... I LOVE the idea of being a Southern belle even if I'm born and raised in Missouri... haha... being a Kappa (which many associate with the South, even if we weren't founded there) I can kind of fake it, right?!
As for the whole debutante thing that was discussed earlier... although it is predominantly Southern, I find it interesting that people don't consider it in the midwest at all. One of my sisters is a debutante and she too is from Missouri... I guess it just depends on whether or not you consider Missouri a midwestern state or a southern state. (Personally, I don't consider it either... we're not the south, but I refuse to be bombarded with midwestern stereotypes. I don't live on a farm... I live in St. Louis!!

And, off topic, the midwestern prom thing... my prom was in a hotel in downtown St. Louis and it cost $90!! My dress was $250 and that was middle-of-the-road for what girls were spending. Prom in a gym is a crazy thought!! (But we do have homecoming at our school...)
