For some reason, I'm thinking Phi Mu here as well. I must figure it's their turn (seriously - it's a wonderful group!)

I guessed Phi Mu earlier, but then she said, "Clue #4: My new group has three Greek letters in its name, not two ". So, Phi Mu can't be the one.

I think its ADPi (and not because I am biased!). Most of the clues are easy enough to interpret to ADPi:

One AI so far
Three letters
Not a "specific shape" pin
Founded in the 19th century
Already mentioned

The St. Patricks Day one is the catch. I think it works because of the McDonalds Shamrock Shakes. I remember during recruitment the PNMs would watch a movie about the Ronald McDonald House while working on the philanthropy project. The part that stands out the most was that the proceeds from Shamrock Shakes used to be (maybe still are) donated to the Ronald McDonald House. I'm not sure Lake would have seen this movie (probably not ) but she may have known the connection. Just a thought...the Claddagh hands is a good reason as well. So my guess is ADPi!!

Ok, I don't think it's ADPi because of the clue about the specific shaped pin. I think a diamond is a pretty specific shape. I'm thinking it's someone like Chi Omega (I know it's not them) who has a pin with their letters stacked or something.

Not sure if that is a very good description but hopefully it makes sense.

Okay I' totally biased for ADPi but the way I took "specific shape" was this...

DG their badge is an anchor (specific)
Kappa their badge is a key (specific)
Tri Delt, crescent moon w/stars

yes we have a diamond but KD's badge looks a little like a diamond (long ways).

in reality a lot of badges would be considered "specific". us, diamond. DPhiE, triangle (kind of), Gamma Phi circle (again kind of), Phi sig, sigma kappa, tri sig all triangles.

I think that is what is so fun about this b/c people take the clues each a different way and come up with our guesses.

Now if only we knew if we were right or not in our guesses.

I know! It's like everytime I read the clues I think of them differently!

So, ASUADPi, you took "specific" to mean like, unique to that organization right?

Hadn't thought of it that way...

Hmmm...

*Off to analyze some more...*

Yeah. I also took it to mean like "really" specific. If that makes sense. Like I think our diamond is specific (because it's a specific shape) but Kappa's key is a specific "object". I don't think I'm making sense. I've decided that it's kind of hard to "say" why you thought the way you did.

It's so much fun trying to guess. he he.

THat's how I would think of "specific".. like the Kappa key, the Delta Zeta lamp, the AXiD quill and other pins that look like specific objects.

While the diamond is ADPi's symbol, KD's pin is a long-shaped diamond as well. And the Sigma Kappa pin is a triangle shape just like DPhiE's (except DPhiE's has a scroll @ the bottom).

I'm still debating with myself whether I would consider the stacked letter pins to be specific... I guess I could see how they are specific in that they very readily symbolize the specific org. (like AGD or ChiO), on the other hand there are several NPC groups that use the stacked letters.

Maybe she meant "specific" as in there is always something specific in the stacked letter pins? Like all the AOII pin's I have seen are stacked letters, but they have the garnet (or ruby?) at the top of the A.

I guess specific can have so many meanings!

Time for a new clue

That's a ruby

I have no idea who to guess, other than it's not DZ, SK, Phi Mu, KD, Alpha Phi or DG...I hope that's all of the "two Greek letter" sororities?

You forgot Chi O......

It's also not us since we have many more than one AI.....

I took "specific" to mean it's not a recognized shape like a kite or key (or arrow or those things).

I'd say ADPi is looking like a good guess.

Another update and another clue

Yesterday I received in the mail a letter acknowledging my acceptance of an invitation to membership and payment for the necessary fees. I also received a copy of a CD-ROM filled with all sorts of info about my new GLO.

Although most of the info in the CD was already familiar to me (as I've been studying my GLO for the past five years!) there were some items in it that absolutely gave me the chills (in a good way). For example, there were explanations as to how the founder(s) chose some of the symbols for the group and why, and those reasons parallel so closely to some aspects in my own life it's almost eerie!! Friends, I have truly come home and I feel some part of me is now complete!! Thank you for letting me share this happy time with you!!

The AI coordinator also forwarded an e-mail to me yesterday from the collegiate chapter they're making initiation arrangements with. In a nutshell, things ARE happening behind the scenes, although of course not as quickly as I want them to!! I expect to hear from someone from the collegiate chapter anytime now about an actual date.
