Thanks Sharon, I love how you just expect me to be on GC all day just waiting for something to respond to.
Actually, I never heard anything about them not allowing snap bidding. But even though I did get to keep time for a couple of icebreaker rounds, they certainly did not trust me with any of that important information.
What bruinaphi said about not having time is probably pretty accurate. We had a significant snow/ice storm (significant for NC) during pref and there were rumors about pushing back bid day. I think it could be very possible that they did not start bid matching as early as they would have if it had not stormed and therefore did not have as much or any time for snap bids.
What I do know is that all of the girls that did receive bids were high quality women who met all of our membership standards. They were girls that we wanted. We did not extend bids to girls who did not meet the standards just for the sake of numbers. The chapter has already begun to COB and I hear that we have offered several bids to high quality women who did not participate in formal recruitment.
At the end of the day, my chapter and all of the others at Elon worked hard, looked cute, and will continue to do so this semester.
