I had the roommates from hell my freshman year. I think I posted this on the thread ZTAngel posted, so I'll just give the highlights:
- I was in a double that had been crowded to a triple. Dorm space was tight, so this was commonplace.
- One roommate had the same first name as I do, and if anyone called for me she'd assume the call was for her.
- The other roommate was a total neat freak.
- My two roommates were one race, I'm another. One of my roommates started dating someone (same race that they were) who was a total racist. He turned her into a racist. So pretty soon she wouldn't give me the time of day.
- Other roommate (the one with my first name) had a lot of college credit, and spent the whole first semester whining about how she shouldn't have to take any freshman classes because of her transfer credit. (She did get transfer credit for many freshman classes, but not all.)
Finally, they got to be too much, and I complained to my dorm's housing chairs. I lucked out - someone was moving off my floor at the same time, and I got her room (a single that usually goes to a junior
) and my roommates got their room as a double for the rest of the year. The next year, though, they had to move off the floor or take a freshman roommate (as that room was to be crowded again). Needless to say, they moved
