In a word...yes. I graduated with a degree in Biological Systems Enginering, clearly not basketweaving, with about a 2.75. However, I went to Texas A&M Univ., a top 15 public engineering school. I had a 165 LSAT score and was accepted to Tier 1 law schools and Tier 2 law schools with full ride scholarships.
I am sure your GPA is better than mine, because my bad grades in undergrad were not limited to organic chem, although I did get a D in that
. So, don't sweat, I have recruited for my law school and talked to my dean of admissions and they most def take into consideration your major. In fact, you're likely better off than a Poly Sci person with a A's in the classes you have C's in because scientist and engineers are statistically proven to do great in law school. It has to do with already knowing how to think linearly.
Seeing as the LSAT is nothing more than a predictor of first year success in law school (which is why it is not considered in law school transfer applications as the first year is over) your major lends in your 1L success likelihood and is therefore considered as wel.
