Oh my gosh - I could teach a class on the woes of curly hair. Yes, I have the dread-lock curly hair. This is what I do to it in the morning. After I wash it I brush it and then shake my head really hard to let it fall naturally. Then I put Friz Ease, then Mousse (alcohol free) on and hang my head upside down to blowdry. Never let it blowdry all the way. Then I go put on my makeup and stuff. Then right as I am heading out the door, I put on a gel - Tigi Bed Head Friz Control (I think - it is green and smells like apples) - lightly over the top layer to smooth down all the flyaways.

To give you an idea at to the curlyness of my hair - when it is curly it is at my shoulders. When it is straight, it comes to the middle/bottom of my shoulder blades.

People with curly hair usually have very very very dry hair, so it is best to wash every other day. I can't do that though, so to make up for it I get a really deep deep, super deep conditioner and one of those clear plastic hair cover things. I put a ton of the conditioner on my head then the cover thingie and then heat it with a blow dryer for like 20 minutes. It is the same thing as a deep conditioning treatment at a salon. I do that about every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, and that helps a lot. I usually give myself a pamper day - I do all the little beauty maintainance things that we ladies do - you know what I mean, we don't have to share all our female secrets.

One more suggestion - avoid dying curly hair. Yep, I made that mistake. It dries hair out even more!

On top of everything else, my hair is really thing - and dark red! So, with the thickness, you can imagine the bushiness. And red hair eliminated so many colors from my wardrobe.

Anyway, hope y'all can use some of what I said!

And by the way, Lucy Lui is a Chi O!

Allie
