August 9th, I move into my sorority house. Unfortunately, my roommate is a rho chi, so she won't move in until after rush, so we have to wait to start the decorating, but oh well. This will be the first time in my college career that I will be living with someone I like, so I can't complain too much.
So here's the plan...kinda. Apparently, national housing rules says that girls sharing rooms have to have matching bedspreads, so me and my roomie are getting these woven afghans with the coat of arms on it. They are so nice and thick. (The only reason the house manager is really enforcing this rule is b/c there is a distinct possibility that our national president is coming to visit during rush!!! That means we have to be on our best behavior!
) I think we are going to use our SC state flags as curtains. SC has the coolest flag. It's navy blue with a palmetto tree (which is basically a palm tree) and a crescent moon. I have a tapestry that we're gonna hang from the ceiling, and I bought these cool Chinese lantern lamps to hang over the fireplace. (How cool is that? We have a fireplace! I think it's b/c the house is like 200 years old.) Other than that, our walls will probably just be filled with pictures frames and stuff. I am excited about my ladybug lamp my mom got me b/c ladybugs are my chapter's mascot. I can't wait to move in!
