When Iowa and USC played in the Orange Bowl, I'd guess that it was nearly 70% black with all that gold (seriously, teams that share a color playing in the same bowl game is a fantastic mess, even if it's secondary).
Now, some of that was blamed on the 'hangover' from not being in the title game, and some on Iowa traveling very well (i mean, cold-weather state and all), but honestly USC had to sell part of its ticket allowance to UI fans.
Maybe that's where it comes from? Either way - that will definitely be a great game, two storied football schools going at it . . . and sorry Auburn, but I'm pretty sure this is the 'correct' game, too.
