So I found this Delta Tau Delta engraving back from 1899 and i was wondering if any of you knew anything about the fraternity back then or what the Delta Alpha Kappa stands for thats apart of this picture... if that was a chapter or what? I tried asking around but was not successful.

this is not the picture but it is the closest thing i could find to kind of give you guys an idea of what i was talking about.

any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Since AGD Angel is probably not a Delt, she will not be having any chapter consultant visit her chapter nor will she be attending division conferences.

DAK or Delta Alpha Kappa stands for our Public Motto. Many organizations have them and the reasoning for them is different in different organizations. Since our public motto is public, it is okay to divulge it. You can also find it written about in our international history book "Sing to the Royal Purple". Our public motto is "Labor for the Beautiful and the Good". I'm not sure where it comes from, if it is a quote for instance. I haven't found it in the Bible. The meaning could me several things. For me, it is another announcement of our mission statement, "Committed to Lives of Excellence".

Although not used very often anymore, it does bring up a lot of discussion. At my undergraduate chapter, we used Delta Alpha Kappa as a source for our member education program, which had a ceremony attributed to each level until you get to be a Complete Delt.

Hope that helps.
