To play the Devil's advocate, it really is no different from a dowry. Because this is something that we don't really do in our culture, it seems weird. But lots of people "get paid" to marry someone. Just not a million dollars. And why would you say after 30 days??? What a waste of a million dollars. I would have made the agreement 5 years, and you get a cool $200,000 per year until the deal is complete. Thirty days... what a schmuck.
