OK, time to BUMP this one back to the top!
Here's your answer to my recent "daily facts" question!

Just a little clarification to add this year: the Union was
voted on Aug 31, 1939 and took effect the next day,
Sept. 1.

However the union was to be celebrated on Oct. 11....
a way of getting ThKN's "holiday" into LXA's calendar.
Also gave everyone time to plan and make arrangements
for local events.

Wherever possible, LXA chapters held banquets to celebrate
the union on Oct 11, 1939. Our chapter (the only ThKN in KY)
had one with U of KY's chapter (the only LXA in KY until
then).

Stop and smell the WHITE roses today!

A week late, but my white rose bloomed today. They generally bloom in June, August, and October. Any significance to that?

Happy Union Day....again!

Looks like I (we) missed it last year....all are responsible for bumping
this note on or shortly before Oct. 11 each year!!

My white roses start blooming in March and bloom until an artic blast
freezes them, usually in November....they're Canadian so they can
take the cold!
