About a week before initiation, we would have clues left in the chapter room from our bigs. It was usually a little present and a card with riddle in it. On the last night before unveiling, we would go out to what we refered to as the "farm house" (a retreat sorta place we used that was away from campus). Earlier, our bigs would take a yarn ball (that was passed down from sister to sister in your family) and sting the yarn up all over the place. When the littles arrived, you would find a place that had your end of the string and you name card and you would just start winding it up...sometimes this took forever! it would go all through the trees, around and around and around! At the end of your string, there was you big. It was always soo much fun. Sometimes your riddles would totally throw you off and you were really surprised who was at the end. The yarn was always kept in your family. It also made the pledge class work together, cause the more you worked together on getting your yarn untangled from somenone elses, the faster you went. Kinda hard to explain, I guess...but it is one of my fondest memories....both getting my big and little and watching everyone else.

(aww...warm fuzzies!)
I would have loved to had a tuckin....those ideas sound like a lot of fun.
