I played the viola in Grades 4-6. I loved playing the viola because it made such beautiful sounds. Everyone played the violin (look in the thread!), so I liked being unique. Believe it or not, my mom made me quit because she said she wanted me to take gym so I could lose weight.
The sad part? I'm still full-figured, and I'll always be thick at the very least.
I'll probably pick it back up again in the future for two reasons. I have developed a fondness for classical music, and Ken Ford puts in
work when he plays jazz violin! Maybe I can learn how to "jam" on the strings....
