An Alpha Delta Pi legacy is recognized with a legacy introduction form sent in by the sorority woman to whom she is a legacy. The legacy may also have recommendations sent in on her behalf. (I don't know what you do in the case that the sorority woman you are a legacy to is deceased, but you are a legacy nonetheless and legacy intro form can still be filled out).

A PNM who chooses not to recognize her legacy status, for fear that chapters will be biased and think that she only wants to go to her legacy chapter, is cutting off her nose to spite her face. Any form of recommendation or recognition helps improve a PNM's chances in recruitment. And any chapter that would cut you based on your relative's choice to join XYZ 20 years ago and perceiving that you will want that too "just because you are a legacy" is not a chapter you probably would want to join anyway. It shows they are making snap judgements without even meeting the PNM and giving her and the chapter a chance to see if there is a good match. I think PNM's should use any resources possible if they want to have a successful recruitment (recs, legacy forms where applicable, talking to their recruitment counselors and the office of greek life with any questions about recruitment, practicing interview questions, etc.)

Good luck to all the PNM's going through recruitment this fall!
