Easy there Billy *L* Actually, it doesnt matter to me if shes got a little more cushion or skinny. Maturity, honesty, and chemistry are my standards. No really. I think the problem your addressing is slowly getting worse. For instance, look at those cover models in Victoria Secret. How many women when you walk into a shopping mall look like that. I wouldnt be suprised that girls are resorting to making them self sick. I think 33 girl nailed this issue on the head in another thread. This problem should be addressed from the top down in every sorority. It would definitely help fight the problem, help improve recruitment and help influence peoples perceptions. I'm not saying anyones perfect but theres a lot that could be done. Some of it stems from Hollywood too and of course they're often in denial about this kind of stuff. I agree with Amycat412 opinion on the issue at looking at things realistically. Everyone knows what works for them. God made us who we are and we dont have to change to be like someone else.

i lost 60-70 lbs my first year in college and went back that christmas and people were falling all over themselves in shock at how different I looked. What REALLY sucked, was that people treatedme totally different after. better. I HATE that. Like I wasnt as worthwhile as a person when i was big. thats OK, I have/has/had NO use for the people who treated me differently. I have a really good Oprah, "celebrating your spirit" story about this to share with yall on the warm fuzzy thread later whan I have a chance. too busy today.

This is going to sound a little usual coming from a female, but I'm happy with my looks (though I wish I was a little bit taller). Body image is not a major source of my self esteem. What makes me confident is my abilities and reputation.

This is a timely thread, lol.
Althought physical attractiveness does play an important role in one's confidence, I think that it has to come from within. However, a bit of outside reinforcement never hurts, lol.

I am COMPLETELY happy with my looks... True, every once in awhile I may wish that I was 105 pounds like I was in high school, but weight isn't the only thing that makes someone beautiful. In fact, looks aren't the only thing either!
I think the one think that makes me most confident about myself and my worth isn't how I look, but who I am inside (so cheesy, I know). I know that I am a kind, caring person who treats everyone around me with respect (except maybe not when I'm PMSing) and I think that if I wasn't me, I would want to hang out with me!
