I just learned today that the husband of a fellow NJ alumna is in need of open heart surgery!
Mr K is in his mid-30's and since he was a teen he knew he had a heart murmur. Recently he went to the doctor feeling tired, coughing, etc, and was sent to a cardiologist, who gave the diagnosis that the aortic valve is failing/leaking & will need to be replaced. Mr and Mrs K went to a surgeon at Columbia/NY Presby a few weeks ago & are meeting with a 2nd surgeon this Friday. The doc said it is leaking heavily, but they don't know how long it has been leaking. His next test is in Oct & we will have a better gauge then.
Please keep Mr and Mrs K - and their darling 4-yr old legacy - in your prayers.
