Greek representation good or bad?

lusherboy, I already told you how I feel, but I think this is a topic that deserves to be discussed, no matter how much it might have been discussed in the past.


I think how outsiders percieve GLOs is important. They are, however, private organizations with secret rituals. Therefore, there's no way that an outside can truly know what sort of vows we take before we become members. That's why SELF-EXAMINATION is so important in Greek life. Trust me when I say that the issues outsiders see, we see them too.

The problem is people in private organizations don't like being examined by people outside of those organizations. It's family.....you wouldn't want a Smith or Jones standing outside of Chez Lusherboy telling you how to run your house. Or even criticizing your mistakes. It just doesn't work that way.

You clearly want to be a member of some organization. And it is definitely okay to ask YOURSELF these questions before you make the committment. But it's also very important to befriend other Greeks in real life....you can then guage from them what questions are appropriate to ask. The closer you are to someone, clearly the more leeway you will get when asking these important questions.

Anyway, I'll end it here since I'm just repeating what I typed before. Hopefully others can join in and dialogue.
