I also doubt it would pass. Is there any indication how many states are in favor of the amendment?

ETA: What the organization want to do is not cool. It should be up to the individual whether or not they want to be out of the closet.

I also read this in an article from Bloomberg:

President George W. Bush said a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage will ``strengthen families'' and prevent ``activist'' courts from allowing same-sex couples to marry.

I don't think banning same-sex marriage will do any of them. IT is up to the couple to strengthen the families. I highly doubt that a gay union will disrupt the strength of my family or any other family. Bush is really reaching.
