Be Suspicious! (And Good Luck)

Congrats to the F&M Greeks on a closer relationship with the University, but be cautious and keep your eyes open! You don't yet know the motivations of the U's administrators in this issue. It's possible (based on experience) that there may be those who want to tie the greeks back in so they can destroy them for good, as they have been unable to do since 1988. Don't mean to be negative, but I've seen too many undergrads get burned by anti-grek administrators who say "Oh, we're here to help you." The tipoff is that term: "Model System". What that may mean is that they want YOU to conform to the model that THEY create, and what THEY want is not remotely attractive to any new members. I've seen this exchange before: they say, 'Here is the model and you must be like this." The response from the undergrads was: "YOU create a fraternity based on that model, if you think it's so great, and we'll see if anyone wants to join it."
Have fun, but don't trust the same people who 'de-recognized' you back in 1988. They're not your friends; many are and always have been out for themselves and their own political agenda.
