zta, I might suggest, if your scores were average, I have been able to improve mine 14 points based on what I scored last year and what I've been scoring on all my practice exams through the Kaplan LSAT class (the real thing is this Monday). I'm applying to a school where if I get what I've been getting, I'll be in their 75 percentile for LSAT scores and around their 50 percentile for GPA. Doesn't hurt that dad's a lawyer and I'm working as a legal assistant (I hope).

The LSAC is really a nice service though. Very helpful I guess if you're applying to tons of schools. I'd recommend going to your college library and seeing if they have a copy of this book (I don't recall the book's name) that describes each law school, their admissions standards, etc.. Good info!

Working as a legal assistant/paralegal (whatever you want to call it) has been great though. I'm learning tons about how a law practice works. fine.

Oh, and good luck!
