Doesn't Dumbledore acknowledge, at the end of the book when he tells Harry everything, that he sent the howler? Or does Harry just say "so you sent the howler" and Dumbledore doesn't say anything?
I figure Harry doesn't recognize the voice because (1) he's still tired and stressed from fighting dementors, (2) he's tired and stressed because of being expelled from Hogwarts and then suspended with the possibility of expulsion, (3) he wasn't expecting to hear from Dumbledore and was distracted by surprise that the howler was addressed to Aunt Petunia, and (4) there is an anger/urgency in the voice that Harry isn't used to hearing.
As for altering his voice, I wondered if he used a charm so that his voice wouldn't sound the same to Harry, so as not to risk setting up the Dumbledore/Harry/Voldemort connection.
Interestingly, what Aunt Petunia tells Harry after the howler is exactly what Sirius and A. Weasley said -- don't leave the house. The way she says it sounds a little more punishing (like "you're grounded," and Harry interprets Sirius's and A. Weasley's letters as scolding), but reading it again I had to wonder if she was using that tone of voice to cover up the fact that she was looking out for Harry's safety. Remember that the other thing we are told is that she seems to understand the implications of Voldemort being "back."

After just recently rereading OoTP again....does anyone else get the feeling that there is a spy in the Voldie camp?....and not Snape?
It just came to me, I believe after reading the scene between Voldie and Rookwood that Harry dreamed about?

Yes, I'm quoting my own post.
Went back and checked -- when Harry says "You sent the howler. It was your voice," Dumbledore answers "I thought she might need a little reminder." That sounds to me like an acknowledgment that he did send the howler, but admittedly he doesn't actually say so.

Has everyone seen the new FAQ answers up on jkrowling.com?
When would we like to discuss?

JKR said she wouldn't saddle her child with the name of Harry after she had her son a few years ago (his name is David), and I don't think she would name it after any of the other characters, either. It would be a little weird, IMO.

It's been confirmed; Ralph Fiennes is going to be playing Voldemort in GoF. They're going to have to put a looot of makeup on him; he looks nothing like how I picture Voldie.
As for JKR's FAQ poll, the Dumbledore howler question is in the lead by quite a bit (58%).
Also in the FAQ (now that we've all had plenty of time to look for ourselves!), we find out that Arthur will not be the new MoM (which I am very disappointed about ), that Tom Riddle is not the HBP, and that Harry discovered something in CoS that forshadows something related to the HBP, but does not relate to the basilisk or the diary.
So, what are Harry's major discoveries in CoS?
1. House elves and their duties
2. Various dark arts things in Knocturn Alley (and Hagrid visiting there)
3. He is a Parselmouth
4. Hagrid was in Azkaban
5. Aragog
Anything else? Any ideas about how these relate to the HBP? (I haven't read CoS in awhile.)

True... but he's still pretty hot. I was looking at pictures yesterday on Yahoo. There was one... I don't know if it was the lighting or the pose, but he did look... well, evil. Not snake like of course... just evil.
Miranda Richardson is also playing Rita. What other movies was she it? I saw a small list and it included The Hours but I know she's been in others.
And then Brenden Gleeson is playing Mad Eye. Now, if you wanna talk about make up... this guy will need it. He's pretty young looking (unless they are going to make him double the part of Mad Eye and Barty.)

This, is making think more and more that Hagrid is the half blood prince. Well we find out in book 4 that he is half giant half wizard. JKR also said that she took out a ton of stuff out of book2 because it would give too much away. It makes me think that she's split it up in books 3, and 5 and is giving us the rest in book 6. That's why I think it's Hagrid.

I actually have to agree with some of the speculation that Hagrid is the half-blood prince. After all half-blood doesn't have to refer to the "wizard" heritage, but could in fact refer to half-human... so Hagrid is the Prince of Giants?

Could be...after all, Dumbledore sent him out to gather the giants' support. His mom could be the queen giantess. Very plausable.
