If taste is an issue, you may want to try a water filter, especially if the water where you are smells or tastes funny. I use a Brita filter at home and pour my own bottled water instead of buying a brand new bottle every time. I've also read about/seen water flavored with a fresh lemon/lime/orange slice.
*Thinking out loud* Who would have thought that a bottle of water would cost more than a 2 liter drink?
