Oh sorry, didn't mean to crash your board. I had done a search for the Sex and the City thread and this one popped up and I replied before I realized it was in the DST forum. Hope y'all don't mind.

Jeez, what WASN'T filmed here? Vancity stands in for a number of American cities, so lots of things get made here. Justin Timberlake is up here working on a film, the Arnold S. film "The 6th Day" was filmed in the main library downtown, parts of Catwoman were filmed here (and in Montreal), parts of Scooby Doo 2 were filmed on my campus, lots and lots of bad movies of the week and straight to video films were made here, and Lions Gate Films (an emerging distributor) is based here.
This site has a pretty good list of films and syndicated series that are in production or starting production in YVR soon: http://www.hollywoodnorthreport.com/

There have been quite a few in Boston...the names of them escape me right now, perhaps someone else could help me out...
Not as many in CT (where I'm originally from), only Mystic Pizza comes to mind, and that was about 1 hour away from my hometown.

 | the only one i can think of off the top of my head is Good Will Hunting.

they were supposed to film part of A Civil Action at my high school my senior year. they were going to blow up our pond, but the police dept. and the fire dept. were fighting over who was going to be in charge of overseeing it and the movie people got fed up and pulled out.

 | Don't feel too robbed...not all of it was filmed here. LOL. Meg Ryan's character lived in B-More so her parts were filmed here (some a block from where I work)

The Chase was shot on the west side of Beltway 8. (They shut it down for about a week.)
It's also been used in at leat one each of the Terminator and Batman flicks as city backdrop.
