At my family home here in San Diego, we fly the flag on major holidays such as Independence Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Veteran's Day and so on. About 5 of the people on my street have them up daily.

When I moved to England, I took my US flag with me. On September 11th, I flew the flag from the window of my flat with a sign that read "Thank you UK, our friends".

I also flew the flag on Independence Day. hehehe...when Neil came home from work on the 4th of July, he pulled up to the curb to see the Stars and Stripes floating aloft. When he came through the door he said to me, "Oh great, now the whole neighbourhood is going to know that I live with a Yankee."

Oddly enough, when I moved back to the States, I returned with my US flag and the flag of Poland. I did not bring home a Union Jack.....go figger.
