I don't know if it's worth it. As long as you're organized, I don't think it's really necessary.
I do have the woman from the resort where I'm having mine, though - she technically just handles the stuff at the resort, but she's been really great about giving me local references to florists, bakers, etc. since I'm planning it from out of town.
