Nope not a joke. At the time, picturing him on the green bus headed back was sweet revenge. Now (at 44) I always feel kinda bad about it.

I lived in Southern CA at the time (Redlands), I was a sophomore in HS (15) and this was 29 years ago. I found out later in the year, he was gone all of about 2 weeks. I saw him one last time at the end of the school year...and he told me I would remember him forever cause he was my "first". I guess he was right.
