One question, are you still local? Does the collegiate chapter have your most current contact info on file? If so, great--if not, drop them a note with your current info and ask them to update their files. So many times the collegiates DO want to keep in touch with their alums, but alums do move and sometimes don't let AOII (either local or International) know. It's my experience that usually a collegiate chapter is thrilled to receive a note from an alumna who wants to keep in touch!
I don't live near my collegiate chapter now, but I do still get updates. Email, website (they have an outstanding one!) and the occasional mailing. A lot of that depends on whoever has the Alum Relations position in the chapter. I also give the local alumnae chapter a lot of credit for keeping current and former area alumnae updated about AOII in general (hey, Sarah, pay attention now
) They use a listserv and it's been a godsend for me to keep in touch. There's always info about things like recruitment and Founders Day posted, and other updates as things arise. Even though I live out of town, I get Evites to local events and all of the listserv emails. It's really nice and I thank them for their efforts to keep their former alum chapter members in the loop!

If you're local and can do so, offer to volunteer with AOII on a local level. There are SO many opportunities to help out and get involved, and you'd definitely know what's going on by getting actively involved! Of course chapter always need advisers and local resources, but there's also a variety of alumnae chapter positions. The good thing is for most local alum involvement it's flexible and works WITH your schedule. No more weekly meetings or anything that goes along with it. It's the FUN stuff!!! I also have to put in a plug for working on a Collegiate Corporation Board! I have learned more about AOII as a Corporation officer than I've learned from almost all of my other volunteer positions combined, AOII and non-AOII. I'm talking serious, resume quality experience combined with getting thorough working knowledge of AOII policy, risk management experience, public relations work, human resources (hiring AND firing!) along with all of the financial and budgeting work. So, if you have time, get involved!
