No matter how much GLO history you learn during the process, you will ALWAYS have something new to learn after you go over.

As an Alpha Phi Omega, I had VERY little knowledge of the fraternity history other than from "Baird's Manual" and the APQ pledge manual. When the APQ history book came out (a year and a half after I went over), I read it, but after a while I didn't feel it was comprehensive enough (ie. it was more like an APQ yearbook--too many pictures and cutouts, not enough detailed objective facts about the fraternity, though the "In The Beginning" chapter IMHO was the bomb). In short, I was looking for APQ 499 and the history book was more like APQ 101.

Nonetheless, even if there was an APQ history book before I went over and I read it beforehand, I still would've been searching for more info, because my love for my frat is THAT STRONG. I hope more BGLO members see that if a prospecive reading the history book before they go over is not a matter of the prospective knowing everything there is about [BGLO here], but rather adding fuel to his/her desire to join, PLUS continuing to research the history on his/her org after they go over. The additional knowledge you obtain as a brother is a VERY glorious feeling.

MN, I respect your post wholeheartedly. This is America and you can believe what you wish.

Thanx for the chat. I enjoyed it a lot!

Holla @ me sometime!

Da Rain Man
