it was the same for me - i'm shy - not as bad as i used to be ...any way i was recruitment chair for a year and a half....
so in what way are you recruiting...i kow you said you are COBing, but do you set tables up in your student centre or are you just chatting up women that you run into?
i know it always helped me to have some sort of brochure - it's not too hard to do one up in Word or something...and if you only do up 50 or less than it shouldn't cost more than $10....
anyway, having this brochure would 1) give my hands something to do if i got nervous and 2) give me something to talk about...you know, hand the women the brochure and point to the different things on it while talking...
I always hated doing tables cuz I don't like to approach ppl...eventually i just played a game with myself...how many women would i let pass before i spoke to one...the goal being to not let any pass....
of course the best way to start recruiting is to ask your friends and classmates out to an event - it's always easier to start with ppl you already kow a bit...
