Approximately 900 grooms over the age of 50 were married in Nebraska in 2002.

These stats all seem to kept by state and I can't find (in the time I'm willing to put into this) stats for the whole country. But, senior citizens DO get married.

Domestic Partner benefits aren't offered by many employers. My company does offer same sex domestic partner insurance, but you have to pay full price (about $300 per pay period), where I could cover a spouse for free.

Lots of people got tired of benefits in 1997.

Marriages in 1997: 2,384,000
Divorces in 1997: 1,163,000

Senior citizen divorces in 2002: 2.5 million

And in your statistics it seems only 500 senior citizens out of however many marriages in texas get married...barely a drop in the pool.

Trees do fly...not many but some do I suppose.
