I'm 35 and am loving my 30s!! Looking forward to my 40s and I KNOW than in my 50s you are not going to be able to tell me NOTHIN'!! (Hump, like you can now!! he he he) I recently celebrated a birthday and folks were saying to me "What is it, 29 again?" I was like "Heck NAAAAWWWWW!!! I'm 35 and proud of it!! I DO NOT want to go back to my 20s again!!"

I have a better sense of who I am and what I want at 35 than at 25, less concerned about what other people think about me while at the same time more sensitive to others (if you can understand THAT contradiction!) and much closer to GOD and what He wants from/of me.

Chi_ZETABBW, While I agree that some of the statements that you quoted in your post are the sign of immaturity, I think some are the sign of maturity! My Pastor likes to say you have the "guard your gate" (your mind) and watch what comes in it, because a thought leads to a feeling and a feeling to an action. I try very hard not to even THINK (don't always succeed though!)about divorce as an option for any marital strife that my husband and I may or have gone through. Sorry, I went off on that tangent, I know that was not what the post was about!!

Ok, I'm 30 from Upper Marlboro,Md and I still get a kick when I get carded.

I also plan to turn 29 again on my birthday (yes I'm going backwards) and stay that way until it doesn't make sense for my son to have mother 29.

P.S. What part of Cleveland are you from? My parents are in Shaker, but I spent my early years near Woodland Ave.

And although I am still young, my family swears that I am a old person's soul just in a young person's body. I have always acted older than what I am. And sometimes that is really hard. When I am around people my own age, I see things a little differently, not with all the drama and piddly diddly mess. I don't see the point in stressing over a lot of things anymore! My friends like to say I see things as if I'm 42 instead of 22. And when I am around people much older they are sometimes shocked at my maturity!

LOL, Soror, I know what you mean!! I spent a lot of time with my grandparents when I was small because my parents worked during the day, so I always thought I was as old as them!! My sister is also 8 and a half years older than me, so I never really had any time around younger children unless I went outside to play. I always had a different view on things, and I learned very early to let things roll off my back!!

So, it was no wonder that my line name is Tranquility. Don't get me wrong, though, I DO like to have fun and joke around (Snoopy can attest to this), sometimes too much!!

Greetings Sorors!

I'm 26, turning 27 on October 9th...I'm excited about getting older. I think as long as we still grow and accomplish our life goals, then getting older is a blessing and not something to be ashamed of.

Libras are in the house!!

Well I am 24 years old. And I've learned that to be very true. So if I say I'm going to be in an exclusive relationship, then that's what I do. Also some people take marriage vows very seriously and are strong enough to adhere to those words through all things. If it's to the point of wanting to cheat, then I've always said, 'Leave first'. Don't even let it get to the point of hurting other's spirit as well as your own. And I definitely don't think that means one is just young or immature. That's just their values or beliefs. However, I will agree that the other things you pointed out may be a sign of inexperience and immaturity.

I am 30 and proud, When I crossed I was 28! No Shame and I was not the oldest on the line...You are only as old as you feel...And since the majority of my Sands are young..I stay young...I train at parties, like I was 22, which is also my line number..smile...

OH, I am still and undergrad student...
Never too old to enrich your mind...

Thanks for the input! Seeing some sisterfriends and sorors in the same age bracket as myself makes me feel a little more connected in GC.
I'm loving 36! I LOVE IT! Getting older definitely means getting better in my life.
More financially secure, homeowner, luxury car, tell people to kiss my a$$ without a second thought, not worried about what others think of me and my decisions, I get more men now then I did in my early 20's(not that I'm looking, but it keeps my old man on his toes), the sex is better then ever. If 40's is better then 30's then I'm looking forward to it.
Also I don't think anyone marries with divorce in mind. I didn't! Thought I would be married forever. My regret is I didn't prepare myself for the consequences of divorce(I mean financially, mentally, emptionally). All I say is ladies enjoy your marriage, I did, but prepare your self for if things just don't work. Ok, enough with the lecture. LOL

Hello all Sisterfriends, I'm 31 and proud of it. A lot of people didn't make it to this age so I feel extremely blessed. I'll be 32 on Nov. 2nd. So here's a BIG shout out to all of the Scorpions on GreekChat. I agree with the philosophy that you're as young as you feel. Heck, as a matter of fact, I'll have everyone know that I'm 3 years OLDER than my husband.

This goes to show you that age is only a number when it comes to ADULT relationships. Personally I think and feel that I'm a VIBRANT, YOUNG, SEXY, INTELLIGENT African-American woman (and my husband feels the same way because he tells me so EVERY DAY!!!!)
