sometimes that might not be an accurate indicator. i remember i guy who was in all of my classes up until highschool. very smart, 2 parent home, but unfortunately he got caught up in some mess and was killed.
i remember hearing vaguely about these gangs while in undergrad. it is so surreal seeing the people you went to school with end up on the wrong side of the tracks.
