we have a chi delt king. he is a sweetheart from another fraternity (he doesn't have to be though). Generally you make someone a sweetheart if they work extra hard for the chapter, either in promotion or helping the chapter with events, or putting up the booth and basically being a cheerleader out of the kindness of his heart. Usually it's someone's bf or just a guy that was a coach in a philanthropy or something. We nominate maybe 4 guys and vote. The sweetheart is announced at formal and the guy gets to wear letters (not standard fabric letters, we usually get him something that says Chi Delt king on it or something) and he can be as active or innactive as he wants. Our current one is really cool. He comes to the first rush event and introduces himself and shows his support thruout the semester.
Now the philanthropies: Don't know much about AXO's but in Sig Ep's: each chapter picks a represenative to participate in talent, question, evening gown, and sash portions of the competition. There is also fundraising and ticket sales and all kinds of stuff. A girl (and her chapter) can become Miss Greek if she wins overall. Money from fundraising and tickets go to charity. Though I don't think the Miss Greek really gets anything but a trophy. One year, Sig Eps helped the winner and her chapter set up a website but I don't know about last year.
