If 'twere I who got the award (the women's version of it), I'd use the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose. I'd explain how I seek to exemplify those principles every day.
I've participated in several workshops over the years with the assignment to write a "personal statement." I always use the Purpose.

That is a really good idea...I'm not big on writing those touchy feely personal statements, but now I can use our purpose to have a template.
