LOL! A Phi Mu friend actually asked our 4th daughter that yesterday with a big grin....I said, 'Wait until recruitment--we'll see!" Another one looked at my china (it has pale pink carnations), then looked at my daughter and said, "Hint hint."
You can grow gorgeous pink ones, though--new cultivars come out every year!
Breathesgelatin--I hear ya. I remember a few events where we had to use red carnations instead of wine. Just as pretty, but they weren't wine!
