She also said that if I needed to I could go through formal recruitment, to get a better understanding of each sorority. I just need to let them know that I'm still considering their bid, I just don't have enough information to make a lifelong commitment. She totally understood about my friend as well. So, maybe I will get my happy ending after all. I'm also going to use this semester to get my grades back up to a 3.0+, then if I still wanted to go through during the fall, I might even get another bid from the house that didn't give me one last week. I have a lot on my plate right now, but I know that I will have to strive to my best ability, if I want to succeed in a sorority and in life.
Good deal. Do the orgs know why you are not accepting a bid at this time? If you never tell them they might think you are totally not interested, which isn't the case. You don't have to go into great detail, but a small explanation may help.

Good luck and stick around!! Never know what kind of excitement you'll see on GC!
