I know what you mean -- of course you love your flower, symbol, mascot, etc. But I think its perfectly okay to think about something more original too.
I love our golden lyre -- but I would also love something cute to have as a mascot too -- so envious of the DZ turtle because I see SO many cute turtle things everywhere!!
About the flower - well, I have always liked our red carnation for two major reasons -- cheap and easy to find!
LOL! Of course its beautiful, full of symbolism, blahblahblah... I don't know what other flower I would have chosen -- been an Alpha Chi for too long to think about that kind of stuff I guess
