Thumbs up We Have A Winner

Of the three major design elements for the former WTC site (office buildings, memorial, transit hub,) the transit hub seems to be the overall best. When the original talk for an enhanced transit hub began after 9-11, what was reported in the press was utilitarian in nature. I was pleasantly surprised to see this design. It achieves the function that they were aiming for, but it is also beautiful. It is a living memorial to 9-11 in a way that inspires hope in humanity.

This is one of those rare occasions when an indoor space is created that is a masterpiece worthy of civic pride. It looks to be on the level of Grand Central Station, the former Penn Station, and the World Financial Center's Winter Garden.

I'm very happy. It is so much better than I could have imagined.
