Cool

For my spring break, I will be traveling to Detroit, Michigan with a group of seven other student volunteers, to work with a program called SOSAD(Saving Our Sons And Daughters). This opportunity was made available to me through the Alternative Spring Break program.

For one week I will be counseling the inner-city youth (grammar and high school) on anger management, conflict management/resolution, and challenging them to find other ways to solve their problems with out turning to violence.

This summer I will go home for about a month to work with Respond Now, a program that responds to the homeless in the south suburbs of Chicago. As a Volunteer, I will assess the level of necessity for food, clothing, shelter, emergency medical assistance for those in need. I'm gonna kick it a little too while I'm in the CHI!!
For the last two months of my summer "vacation", as the Vice-President of the Black Student Union , I will return to campus to prepare BSU for the upcoming academic year while I take classes!!

So I will be having lots of fun!!
