So there need to be differences. But there also needs to be common ground. If you can't agree on music, food, places, anything....you're looking at a rough road ahead.
I agree. If two people have the same personalities, you will either argue too much or if you both are more passive you'll be waiting for each other to make the decisions (which won't happen).

I do think though that similar beliefs and personality traits are more important than having all of the same interests. Similar backgrounds help too.
