I would have to say that I agree with mostly everything that has been posted. I truly wish that there were no need for a MFM. But there is. The one thing that is lost in this debate though is not the fact that we have done nothing and the same problems still exist despite the various marches, but rather the fact that hundreds, or thousands, or even over a million (as was the case with the MMM) mostly African American men, women, and children could come together.

Even if we did it for no other reason than to fellowship, that's kool with me.

Disclaimer: what I am about to say can and will be held against me and some of you may not like it but it's how I feel and you can hate me if you choose.

Now I work in a mostly white office, and there is a certain joy that I get when I do encounter a black face. We have a certain connection and bond that I don't have with someone outside of the race.

I am moved, (and was moved to tears during the MMM)when proud African Americans come together for something positive. I have a deep seeded love for my people, and the struggles that our people have endured bring us all the more closer.

I know that it is hard for someone outside of us to understand. But that is simply the way it is. As long as I have air in my lungs, I will try to support any movement that I believe is a positive force in my kommunity.
