I'm not saying I think male cheerleaders are necessarily gay or that they necessarily like, say, oranges.
Cheerleading is seen as a traditionally female pursuit though? And crossover of guys into traditionally female things is a whole lot less socially/societally acceptable than crossover of women doing "male" things?
Another question is how do female cheerleaders view males who want to cheer with them? With suspicion? With open arms? With indifference?

eta: I just remembered a cheerleading group was going to try to get recognised at my school, by the student union, recently.
I didn't notice if they had any male names on their petition list (you need 15 members to apply to become an official group). I am wondering how they would view them.
