Both situations are tough.
Girl brings a guy home and the parents could be very overprotective of their daughter.
Boy brings a girl home and the mother might feel that no woman can replace her and nobody is good enough for her son. I've had a few friends involved in relationships with a Mama's Boy. My friend went to her fiance's for Thanksgiving. His mom is horrible. My friend made some candy yams and his mother sat there the whole time saying, "These are a little dry. I think it would've tasted better if I made it. Mike LOVES when I make candy yams. Isn't that right, Mike?" Oooooooh, I'd honestly think about jabbing her with my butter knife.
