As I previously stated, my question is in general and not directed to this messageboard.
Just because a person didn't have something handed to them, doesn't mean that they didn't have someone to aid them along the way.

Hi Indecisive,
Whichever sorority you decide to join, remember that first and foremost we are all service organizations. We are a selfless, benevolent group of women who's ultimate goal is to help and serve others. It takes a very special woman to carry out the goals and mission of a sorority. It takes a very special woman to cross and then stay financially active for years to come, and commit herself to the goals of the sorority. It says a lot about a woman's character when she can take herself out of her comfort zone, deal with advesity and yet still acheive her goal, it says she worked for hers and the likelihood of her sticking around to carry out the sororities missions are high.
There's an imbalance between financially active and inactive members in all the sororities. I never like to assume why someone is inactive but the reality is that we need active sorors to carry out the mission. We need women who will give of themselves freely and willingly. And it's those women who put up with whatever they had to, just to get in that in the long run you can count on.
To wrap this up, my point is that if your true mission is to help others, dealing with evasive members should be a minor thing... it's just another hurdle to prove how strong you really.
Good Luck to you and remember Strong sororities, need strong members.

God does this all the time. Really.

Did you read the Pearls of Wisdom before you posed your question?

I've been lurking for a while, but I wanted to join in order to ask a question or two. Here goes...
Being that most women, undergrad or grad, have had to go to someone for direction when attempting to join their respective sorority, why is it that they become evasive when conversing or unwilling/unfriendly when a prospective comes to them? What is it, do they not remember when they were in the hotseat?
|
I'll answer the question because I've got "internet E.S.P."
Here's my question: How come you are incapable of making a decision based on your username?
That enough tells all my sorors that you are unsure of what you want. Maybe that is why they are evading you on your campus or unwilling/unfriendly when an interest has the audacity to harass them about membership when "reading is fundamental"...
It has YET to do with having CRS, senior moments or Alzheimer's when we last joined. (Sorors how many Diamonds do you know? ).
It moreso has to do with what we are legally obligated to state in a public forum.
But I guess you failed to read the POW at the top...

Good evening Lovely Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated,
I have been on the site for a few weeks absorbing all I can. I wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for having a place where sisterfriends can interact with members. God bless each of you!
Although wonderfully made,

Obviously the registration process is too easy or people are ENTIRELY TOO LAME that they have spare time to register and make dumb comments. Maybe they should try going out and serving the community instead of making fools of themselves.

You know I am talking to several Directorate members and Regional Directors about the manditory community service hours requirement for all new applicants...
Talk about "internet E.S.P."

And Soror-Mods: is it not time to have a couple of irritants removed from our community?

Sorors:
Do I need my spray???
Trolls Be Gone, apply directly to the head...
Trolls Be Gone, apply directly to the head...
Trolls Be Gone, apply directly to the head...
There must be a huge infestation or infectious virus among us... Or a fungal parasitic disease that may need a nuclear option.
Such as, I get codes from the site and transfer the info to HQ for never admittance.
I guess someone's panties are in a twist due to the letter of regret.
Moreover, how do we know this person does not have a Y-chromosome and is angry because they cannot afford his operation?
