What I thought was out of line is the way Coral was going out of her way to be rude to Mike.
Yes, exactly! I think even if this situation hadn't occurred b/t Mike and Coral, her attitude gets a big YUK from me! That is what was bothering me more than anything. Prime example: When Malik's friend was trying to explain how he felt about Mike's attempt to learn....did ya'll see that look she shot him??!! I was like DANG!! Brotha man just trying to tell her how he's seeing it. She got an attitude w/ him and she JUST met him! Granted, he didn't know what had happened w/ those two. But sheesh, he was just tryin to say what he felt from where he was standing. It's just her overall attitude that is ugly. And I agree, she seemed cool at the casting special. She seemed like she had some edge to her, but damn, I didn't think it would be like that! She was picking w/ Mike just b/c she knew he wouldn't say anything to her. She knows he won't cross her like that cuz she'd probably eat'm up and spit him back out! lol She's a trip!

Also, I can see where peeps are coming from about whites not learning about black history in school and all. I too went to a pre-dom white Catholic high school. Let me say that they taught virtually nothing about black history. Just the bare necessities, if you will. I don't think we even touched upon Malcolm X to be honest. Anyway, when I was in school, the questions would be flowing from left to right from the white kids. I didn't really have a problem answering them b/c I felt that I'd rather them ASK me (or another black person) than ASSUME something crazy. I mean, at that stage, most white teens aren't gonna take the time and look it up in a book (at least the people I knew in high school wouldn't...HA! yeah right!) So when asked, I'd take the opportunity to answer questions, etc. Even when I got to college, I'd still do the same thing w/ the white people I met. We'd get into convos about race, etc. and they'd want to know stuff about black people. Most times, I could tell they were a little afraid to even ask b/c they felt stupid/silly/ignorant for not knowing. But shoo, I don't know everything about every culture, so I didn't hold that against them. So that's why I was really feeling Malik. I felt he knew that Mike just needed a little push b/c he obviously didn't get it in school or at home.

Just my take on it.
