I never got the impression he too believed that. If he did, then maybe that's another story.

Like I said, she could have tried to see where he got that point of view (if he shared his uncle's point of view as well) and tried to educate him that black people ARE educated and do go to college, etc. Instead, she told all that stuff to the camera and NOT to him. To me, it just seemed like he was trying to tell her what he grew up around and why his uncle didn't hire black people. Also, her not speaking to him for a whole day and waiting for him to apologize....hmm, that was a little dramatic. I mean, I guess cuz I didn't think he meant to offend her. But that's just me. I'll have to watch it again...perhaps I missed something.

I will have to check it in re-runs too, because I thought he was saying that black people were all uneducated and slow, or that that's how it was in his hometown or something. I know that Malik also said that he was hurt by whatever was said (although CLEARLY not enough to do anything but avoid Mike for a minute or two rather than talking about it or saying anything about it). When he said it she just looked upset and was like "you will not talk like that while I am at this table, so be quiet". That's how it came across to me. And then even MIKE said that he regretted what he said and that he was wrong. So that's why I think she was right for what she did.

Plus I know you have to understand how it is. Don't you get tired of playing teacher sometimes? I don't want to be responsible for teaching white folks about us all the time, I'm just tired of playing that role, so I can understand why she might not want to either.
